New HMA president and CEO to collect $900,000 base salary
Gary D. Newsome, the new president and CEO of Health Management Associates Inc. in Naples, will earn an annual base salary of $900,000, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He will also be eligible for performance-based compensation in 2010. He's guaranteed a bonus of $1 million if he's still on the job on Dec. 31, 2009....
